Hi, I’m Geri and this is my blog. I’m a New York and New Jersey native who made her way to the San Francisco Bay Area. I’m married to a guy named Schmoops (not his real name) and we have two kids together: Kidday, a 4 year-old boy and Kidbe, a 14 month-old girl (also not their real names).
Once I had finally decided that I was going to start a blog, I just had to come up with a name for it. Which, frankly, is pretty damn hard these days of interwebz saturation. However, I suppose it’s only fitting that the name for this blog came to me while I was in the bathroom blowing my nose with a napkin because we’d run out of toilet paper and my husband and I were too lazy to run downstairs to bring up more. (Yes, 90% of the time it’s toilet paper in lieu of tissues at Chez Classy.)
Life is chaotic. Life with a kid is more chaotic. Life with two kids is exponentially more chaotic. And amidst all that chaos, I’m trying to find some peace within to help me navigate it. This “zen” I keep hearing about. I want it. I crave it. Baby, come to me… what pheromones do you respond to?
Chaos can be fun though, and we play and laugh. I cook — vegan paleo except for the eggs… and the dairy for the kids… and some grains… and… well, it’s complicated. To hell with labels. We live. There’s lots of screaming, lots of energy, lots of not sleeping, lots of pushing, lots of hugs and cuddles and kisses.
And we keep moving and growing together. Always moving and growing in this giant tornado where I’m clawing my way to the eye of the storm to finally figure out…
Are We Zen Yet?
